Michael Pelekanos, MD

Dr. Michael Pelekanos is a board-certified Sleep Medicine physician and psychiatrist with a diverse background in both clinical care and academic research. He earned his M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine in 2017, following his undergraduate studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where he received a B.A. in Psychology while competing as a Division I baseball athlete. Dr. Pelekanos completed his Psychiatry Residency at Temple University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at the prestigious Stanford Sleep Medicine Center.

With dual board certifications in Sleep Medicine and Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Pelekanos brings a unique and holistic approach to sleep health, integrating behavioral, psychiatric, and medical perspectives.

Dr. Pelekanos is a prolific contributor to the medical literature, with multiple peer-reviewed publications on insomnia therapy, pharmacologic treatments for sleep disorders, and psychopharmacology. He has presented on sleep disturbances in psychiatric populations and is actively involved in professional education. A member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Pelekanos is dedicated to advancing sleep health awareness and has volunteered in organizing community health clinics, supporting underserved populations, and providing patient care.

In his personal life, Dr. Pelekanos enjoys baseball, golf, traveling, and spending time with his family.
