We diagnose and treat the entire spectrum of sleep disorders.
Although there are more than 60 recognized sleep disorders, they can generally be grouped into six main categories based on their symptoms and causes.
Breathing-Related Sleep Disorders
These involve breathing problems during sleep, such as sleep apnea (where breathing stops and starts), and conditions linked to obesity that make it harder to breathe at night.
Insomnia Disorders
This includes trouble falling or staying asleep, whether it’s a short-term issue or something that lasts months or years.
Movement-Related Sleep Disorders
These involve unusual movements while sleeping, such as restless legs syndrome (an uncontrollable urge to move the legs), teeth grinding, or jerky limb movements.
Body Clock Disorders
These happen when your sleep schedule is out of sync with the natural day-night cycle, like staying up too late, waking up too early, or struggling with shift work sleep patterns.
Unusual Sleep Behaviors (Parasomnias)
These include things like acting out dreams (REM behavior disorder), sleepwalking, night terrors, nightmares, eating while asleep, or feeling stuck in place when waking up (sleep paralysis).
Excessive Sleepiness Disorders
These are conditions that make people feel extremely sleepy during the day, even after a full night’s rest. Examples include narcolepsy (sudden paralysis and sleep attacks) and other disorders that cause excessive daytime sleepiness.
